Questions
Can I get a brat delivered tomorrow?
Large delivery orders need 48 hours so we can schedule staff. Smaller same-day orders sometimes work — call the restaurant and ask.
Can the food truck come to my event?
Yes. The Bratmobile parks at backyards, graduations, rehearsal dinners, company lunches, and just about anything in between. Tell us the address, the headcount, and what time you want food rolling out.
Can we schedule a tasting?
Yes. Tastings happen at the restaurant in downtown Madison — we’ll set a time once your inquiry comes in.
What’s on the catering menu?
The full catering menu lives here. Don’t see something you want? Mention it on the inquiry form — we’ll see what we can do.
What’s the guest cap upstairs?
Fire code holds us to 250 guests at a time. Invite more if you want — just stagger arrivals so the room never goes over.
Can underage guests come?
Until 9 PM, yes. After that, anyone under 21 needs to be with a parent or legal guardian. No exceptions — it’s a state rule, not a house rule.
How much notice do you need?
Most on-site catering orders need at least a month of lead time so we can scope the food, the truck, and the crew. Drop-off office orders need 48 hours minimum so we can schedule kitchen staff. Earlier is always better — booking calendars fill up around football and graduation.
What does on-demand catering look like?
Drop-off, hot, ready to serve. Brats, burgers, sides, condiments, serving setup. We can do a brat bar or a burger bar for office events, recurring lunches, or a one-off team meeting. Per-head pricing is confirmed in the quote.
What sides come off the truck?
Cheese curds, fries, deep-fried desserts, and whatever else we can run through the fryer. The truck has its own kitchen — we’re not just heating things up.
What’s included in wedding catering?
A customizable menu — appetizers, mains, sides, desserts — plus setup, serving staff, and cleanup. Brats are usually on the menu somewhere. Final shape gets locked at the tasting.
Can we bring outside food, drink, or decor?
No outside food or drink — the kitchen and bar handle all of it. Decor is fine; you can set it up when your event window starts. No early access to the room.
Can we set up a recurring office order?
Yes. Weekly, monthly, whatever cadence works. Mention it on the inquiry form and we’ll set up a standing arrangement and a single point of contact.
Do you do venue restrictions?
If your venue has catering rules, send them over. We’ll figure it out.
Do you need power, water, or a permit at our event?
Tell us the site on the inquiry form — driveway, lawn, lot, sidewalk — and whether power’s available. We handle our own water. Permits depend on the city; we’ll flag what’s needed.
Is there a deposit?
A $1,000 minimum deposit, paid in advance, locks in your date for on-site catering. Private-party room bookings are paid in full at booking. Office drop-off orders are billed at delivery or invoiced — your inquiry coordinator will confirm.
Will you travel for a wedding?
We’ve cooked weddings all over Wisconsin and into the surrounding states. If your venue is on a map, we’ll figure out how to get the brats there. Tell us where in the inquiry and we’ll quote travel as part of the package.
Can we book the truck for a rehearsal dinner?
Yes. The Bratmobile does plenty of rehearsal dinners — backyard, brewery, park. Mention it in the wedding inquiry and we’ll quote both the wedding day and the rehearsal together.
How do you bill office catering?
Invoice or card at delivery — your call. If your company runs through accounts payable, we’ll send terms.
How far do you travel?
Usually within a couple hours of Madison. Farther is on the table — tell us where the event is and we’ll figure out whether it works.
What happens if our event runs long?
When your two-hour window’s up, the party’s up. Plan the timeline accordingly — and if you want a longer block, tell us in the inquiry and we’ll quote it.
Do you cater weddings?
We do — and we have for years. Full details, packages, and a separate inquiry form live on the weddings page.
How does booking priority work?
Events that include a food buffet get first pick of dates. Room-only bookings come next.
How early should we book?
Couples usually reach out 6–12 months out. Closer windows can work — call us and we’ll tell you straight.
Are refunds possible?
No refunds if your final headcount comes in below what we agreed to. Cancellations are case-by-case — call us early and we’ll work through it.
Is the upstairs space accessible?
Upstairs is a flight of stairs with no elevator. Plan ahead for guests who’d rather not climb — and let us know in the inquiry so we can flag it.
