Can you buy Spotted Cow outside of Wisconsin?
No. New Glarus Brewing Company makes the decision to sell its beer in Wisconsin only, so Spotted Cow isn't sold, stocked, or shipped beyond the state line. The only way to drink it is in Wisconsin — and if you're in Madison, State Street Brats pours it on tap at 603 State Street.
Does the State Street Brats brat box include Spotted Cow or any beer?
No. We can't ship beer, so there's no Spotted Cow or any other beer in the box. What ships is the food: five Red Brats, five White Bratwurst, pretzel brat buns, and Stella's Bakery Original Hot & Spicy Cheese Bread.
Where does State Street Brats ship, and how does shipping work?
We ship to the lower 48 states. Alaska and Hawaii aren't covered yet. Everything is packed cold so it arrives ready for the grill, and you can check out as a guest without making an account.
What is the New Glarus Beer Flight?
It's a four-pour tasting of signature brews from New Glarus Brewing Company, served at our bar at 603 State Street in Madison. It's the easiest way to taste a range of New Glarus in one sitting, Spotted Cow included.
Is Spotted Cow really only sold in Wisconsin?
Yes, genuinely. New Glarus distributes its beer inside Wisconsin and nowhere else, on purpose — it's part of the brewery's identity, not a supply shortage. That's why a friend's cooler is the only way it ever crosses the state line, and why the pour tastes a little better once you've driven back for it.
